Altadena Energy & Solar Inc, a local owner-operated solar energy developer, is seeking new members to join our expanding team. We design, engineer, install and service solar and energy storage systems in the greater Los Angeles area, with the majority of our projects in the Pasadena/Altadena area.

We started our business from our home with young children. We care about and know that each team member has a whole self that includes life outside of work. Solar Technician Team Lead

Altadena Energy & Solar is seeking an experienced Solar Technician Team Lead to oversee field installations of residential and light commercial solar + storage systems. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with field leadership responsibility. The Team Lead is accountable for:

Crew safety
Installation quality
Code compliance
Project efficiency
On-site client professionalism

This is not just a senior installer — it is a leadership position responsible for guiding technicians, maintaining workflow discipline, and ensuring projects are completed to AES standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Installation & Technical Oversight -- lead installation of solar PV and energy storage systems, ensure compliance with NEC, CEC, and local AHJ requirements
Crew Leadership -- supervise and direct 1-4 technician per job site, assign daily tasks and maintain workflow efficiency, ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, mentor junior installers, maintain a professional, calm, solutions-oriented jobsite culture
Project Coordination -- review plans prior to installation, confirm materials and tools are ready before mobilization, complete daily jobsite report and photo documentations
Safety & Compliance -- enforce fall protection and PPE requirements, maintain OSHA-compliant job sites

Qualifications:

5+ years solar installation experience, includes at least 1 year supervising role
Experience leading a crew
Strong knowledge of : NEC solar and battery code, main service panel tie-ins, Enphase /Tesla/ Sol Ark hybrid inverter systems
Ability to read and interpret construction and electrical plan
Valid CA's drivers license
ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on roof

Preferred:

NAPCEP certification (or pursuing)

Hourly rate starts from $45-50/hours
